| Special Conditions: | Inquiries, applications and nominations are invited for the position of
academic associate dean in the College of Health and Social Services. The associate dean will be responsible for planning and monitoring all degree programs in the three departments of the college for both resident and distant students and will demonstrate leadership in resource management, faculty development, traditional and distant education instruction and in the assessment of teach and learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 12 month position | |||||
| Qualifications: | An earned doctorate in one of the following fields of study- nursing, social
work, public and/or community health- a significant record of recent research and publication in peer reviewed journals consistent with obtaining the rank of professor with tenure, ability to monitor and report to various interested groups regarding growth in enrollment, retention, graduation rates and employment of graduates. The associate dean must have a minimum of three years of administrative experience at the level of department head/chair or above in a nationally accredited university. | |||||
| Examples of Duties: | This position requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to
maintaining degree program approval from licensing agencies, regional and national accreditation councils. The associate dean reports directly to the dean and will assist the dean and appropriate staff with strategic and long range planning, recruitment of faculty and students, program development, student advising, fund raising, and the fostering of relationships with community and clinical affiliates. | |||||
