Assistant Professor; Tenure Track; .5 FTE status; 9-Month Department- The Music Department at New Mexico State University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and has approximately 220 undergraduate majors and approximately 30 graduate students. The Department offers a variety of degrees that include the Bachelor of Music in Performance, Bachelor of Music Education, Bachelor of Music Business, Masters in Conducting, Masters in Music Education, and Masters in Performance. NMSU- NMSU is the state’s land-grant university, serving the educational needs of New Mexico’s diverse population through comprehensive programs of education, research, extension education, and public service. Founded in 1888, the university has preserved many of the traditions of its land-grant origin while also increasing emphasis on the fine arts, humanities, social and natural sciences. The Las Cruces campus has an enrollment of more than 16,000, including over 3,000 graduate students and 1,100 faculty members. Las Cruces- Desert and rich farmland, dinosaur track ways and rockets, Spanish and English – all merge together to create the culturally rich and diverse community of Las Cruces.
