| Qualifications: | Required- Earned DNP and/or PhD in nursing or closely related discipline. Clinical experience and current national certification current as a nurse practitioner is required. Adult, child/adolescent, or family psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner certification is required. Must be eligible for NM nursing license.
Preferred Qualifications- Previous teaching experience at baccalaureate or higher degree level is preferred. Family psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner is preferred | |||||
| Examples of Duties: | The Assistant Professor applicant will teach and advise graduate students, apply for funded external support for his/her research, will publish in referred journals, be involved in community outreach projects along the U.S.-Mexico border and our local communities, serve on departmental, college and university committees; be involved in professional organizations in his/her field of expertise.
The applicant will teach at the graduate level, and facilitate ongoing development of our Doctorate of Nursing Practice. Some undergraduate teaching may be required. Duties include preparing teaching and evaluation assigned courses and using teaching strategies that are appropriate to learning needs. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate clinically focused research or work on clinically focused research projects or clinical research in his/her areas of interest and to publish in nationally recognized journals. | |||||
