| Special Conditions: | Appointment is a regular twelve month tenure-track position at the rank of associate or full professor.
The School of Social Work, located within the College of Health and Social Services, offers CSWE-accredited BSW and MSW programs in Las Cruces and Albuquerque. Faculty members teach across both programs with traditional and computer-mediated methods. All offers of employment, oral and written, are contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by federal law, state law, and NMSU policies/procedures, and may include the completion of a criminal history check. | |||||
| Qualifications: | Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in social work or closely related field of study, a master of social work degree from an accredited school of social work, a minimum of three years of administrative experience, and a significant record of research and publication in peer reviewed journals. Desirable qualifications include department head/chair or related experience in a CSWE-accredited social work program, experience with the development of graduate degree programs in social work, experience with licensing and program approval agencies and a record of success in obtaining external funding for student support and research. | |||||
| Examples of Duties: | Serve as the academic department head/director of the School of Social Work. Provide vision and leadership for the School, oversee ongoing development of a strong advanced generalist curriculum, mentor faculty, oversee curriculum development and assessment, facilitate successful proposal writing and research, ensure quality of instruction and learning, develop strong collaborations with other units of the university, work closely with the community, continue a strong distance education component through the use of educational technology, and provide leadership for the proposed doctoral program | |||||
