About the University- New Mexico State University is a research extensive university founded in 1888 as a land grant institution. It has 86 areas of undergraduate study in six undergraduate colleges, 40 areas of study on the master's level, and 19 on the doctoral level. More than 16,000 students study on the 6,250 acre campus. The College of Education is a member of the prestigious Holmes Group and has an enrollment of 1,500 undergraduate and 600 graduate students. NMSU is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, a community of 85,000 with approximately 360 days of sunshine a year.

Qualifications: (1) An earned doctorate from an accredited institution of higher education in Kinesiology/Physical Education or closely related area is preferred; (2) Evidence of ability to conduct scholarly research in area of expertise; and (3) Demonstrate scholarly activity to qualify for graduate faculty membership within one year of employment.
Examples of Duties: Position Description-
(1) Candidates will be able to teach in one or more of the following areas- motor learning; motor development; biomechanics, PE pedagogy and/or exercise science; (2) demonstrate progress towards tenure in teaching, research/creative activity, and professional service; (3) participation in faculty governance and student advisement.
