- Ph.D. or earned doctorate in hand by hire date. At least one of the candidate’s degrees in Hospitality and/or Tourism Management. - An appropriate record of teaching, research and university service. - Expertise and industry experience in one or more of the following areas- hotel sales and marketing; revenue management; hospitality accounting and financial management; lodging operations and management; lodging facility management; tourism and/or hospitality industry management. | |||||
| Examples of Duties: | DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES-
- The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at New Mexico State University seeks a tenure track faculty member. Applicants should have excellent teaching evaluations and the capacity for research related to the hospitality industry. In addition to teaching and research, responsibilities include, but are not limited to- student recruitment, advising, mentoring, and establishing relationships with local and national professional hospitality organizations. The position also requires participation in university and community service activities. Experience with the use of WEB delivery platforms is preferred and the ability to deliver distance education classes will be required. New Mexico State University was founded in 1888 and is the land grant university of New Mexico. The university pursues quality teaching and is a Carnegie Research University (RU/H). The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management (HRTM) was founded in 1988. Currently, the School has approximately 400 students with nine full time faculty members.
