| Qualifications: | Qualifications Required:
• Master’s degree in Business or a related field. • Degree must be in hand by date of hire. Qualifications Preferred: • Community college/post-secondary teaching experience. • Experience in developing curriculum, measuring student learning outcomes, evaluating course efficacy, and assessing and improving student learning. • Knowledge of innovative, creative teaching and learning methodologies for post-secondary students. • Demonstrated experience with program assessment. • Demonstrated experience teaching and relating to individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. • Endorsement of the teaching philosophy of NMSU-A, which supports a goal of success for all students through active learning experiences and strong faculty involvement. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with students, colleagues, staff, supervisors, and the community. • Experience with online course development and delivery. • Proven leadership in an academic environment. • Willingness to live in NMSU-Alamogordo geographical service area. | |||||
| Examples of Duties: | Teach 30 credit hours over fall and spring semesters. Teaching assignments may include day, evenings, weekends, and/or multiple locations.
• Assist in the program review process on an annual basis. • Develop, revise and update curriculum in collaboration with department and college faculty according to established curriculum procedures. May develop and teach online courses. • Participate in and serve on department, division, and college committees, program advisory councils, task forces and working groups. • Maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities. • Maintain office hours as mandated by division and college policy. Finalists will be asked to document their teaching effectiveness with student evaluations or similar material and will be asked to present a teaching demonstration. | |||||
