Salary: Commensurate with education and experience- Base salary $40,000-50,000 per 9-month academic year; additional compensation for summer supervision of program and possible additional compensation based on additional state appropriations for nurse education programs.
Special Conditions: (1.0 FTE 9-month Tenure-Track Position, with additional duties and compensation in summers)
Qualifications: Required: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required (degree must be in hand upon date of hire).
Shall hold current licensure or be eligible for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico.
Minimum of two years full-time post-secondary teaching experience.
Minimum of three years experience in higher education.
Administrative experience in post-secondary academic unit such as academic department or academic division.
Demonstrable experience with student learning assessment and program assessment.
Understanding of community college mission and philosophy.
Understanding of the relationships between developmental, general, and vocational education.
Applicant selected will be required to live in NMSU-Alamogordo service area.

Preferred: Two years full-time experience in accredited health care facility.
Community college teaching experience.
Community college administrative experience.
Examples of Duties: Responsibilities:
1. Advise the Campus Executive Officer and Campus Academic Officer on instructional and faculty matters.
2. Assist in communicating to division faculty and staff the policies and procedures of NMSU-A.
3. Promote division growth through academic leadership, visionary thinking, and mentoring.
4. Provide leadership in administering, planning, developing, scheduling, and assessing instructional programs within the division.
5. Preparation and management of approved division budget, including faculty development budget.
6. Recommend for hire, supervise, and evaluate division faculty and staff.
7. Teach, as permitted by State Board, each academic semester.
8. Participate in the meetings and affairs of the Academic and Joint Councils.
9. Participate in various committee assignments for the benefit of NMSU-A.
10. Coordinate with NMSU departments and with appropriate external agencies and organizations (including ensuring compliance with NLNAC accreditation policies and Board of Nursing rules and regulations, attendance at quarterly Board of Nursing meetings, active participation in State Nursing Education Advisory Committee and other advisory committee in allied health, and work with state articulation committees/task forces)
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
