Special Requirements—U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain a government secret clearance is required; must be able to obtain an interim clearance before start of employment and a final SECRET clearance within one year from employment date.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in hand by hire date in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering, Meteorology, Physics, Mathematics or related technical area plus minimum of five years experience which provided the following knowledge skills and abilities-
• Two or more years direct working experience in systems engineering and integration including experience in requirements analysis and management, system interface definition, operational concepts development, software requirements, test planning, and test procedures development.
• Knowledge of other related disciplines such as software design and development, software requirements, software testing, configuration management, quality engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft software—MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and MS Visio.
• Ability to understand assignments and carry them out with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team.
• Ability to work as an effective team member on system engineering efforts.
• Experience with ABCS, IMETS, ASAS, DCGS-A or other C2 systems desired.
• Prior operational military weather support experience desired.
• Prior operational military support experience as a C2 user or INTEL Analyst desired.
• Ability to effectively communicate concepts and ideas in written and oral form, including presentation skills required.
• Ability to interact with different types of audiences desired.
• Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Examples of Duties: Work will be performed in an Integrated Product Team environment which will develop and deliver software and computing systems for the Joint Environmental Toolkit (JET) Program. JET will replace the weather systems used by Air Force and Army Combat Weather Teams and systems used at the Air Force Operational Weather Squadrons with a network-centric architecture. Individual(s) will apply technical knowledge to perform systems engineering activities. Systems engineering activities include system and software requirements analysis, requirements definition, and interface definition, formulation of operational scenarios, test planning and test execution, and allocation and flowdown of requirements. Individual(s) will accomplish other duties as assigned with minimal specific oversight, follow established software engineering processes and procedures, support the development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment, or subsystem level), external and internal interfaces, and other systems engineering work products. Individual(s) will work closely with other IPT members to achieve program success. Occasional travel may be required. Technical direction and oversight will be provided by the PSL Task Leads and Senior Software Engineers located at NMSU/PSL in Las Cruces, NM.
