| Qualifications: | Requires a PhD or MA with equivalent experience related to Rural Development; Eight (8) years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities as outlined; Bi-lingual ability to communicate (oral/written) with population served.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS- Language ability (oral/written) and cultural understanding of the population served. |
| Examples of Duties: | • Researches and develops strategies and plans which identify opportunities and new project development.
• May manage program planning, implementation, organization, strategy, and management. • Coordinates, negotiates and obtains approvals of NMSU activity with the principal U.S. contacts. • Liaison responsible for facilitating travel arrangements, contracts, representational and working meetings, appointments, conferences, and communications. • Expands and formalizes agreements involving U.S. land-grant partners; assure adequate communication and coordination of activity with all partner universities. • Participates in the development of new project proposals for the unit. • Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short- and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals. • Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new job programs and/or policies. • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. |
