| Qualifications: | Minimum qualifications include an earned Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and three years of experience
University and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation; Microsoft desktop operating systems including Windows 2000, XP, and Vista. Apple operating systems including Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server. Linux Operating systems including Ubunto and Red Hat. computer hardware components, various commercial and specialized software applications, Microsoft 2003 and Linux network administration to include user creation, password reset, network printing, file and print sharing, web development tools and applications, Windows 2003 server components to include IIS, Sharepoint, WSUS, Active Directory, Group Policy Management, Cluster Services. Linux OS and components to include Apache Web Server, MySQL, php, basic desktop/network security. Skills in- Short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public contact and relations; oral and written communication; set up and troubleshooting disk to disk backup systems and software, and server administration. Abilities to- Direct, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities; analyze and evaluate information. |
| Examples of Duties: | Supervise, direct, delegate, and evaluate work of assigned staff; communicate status of equipment, tasks and ongoing projects to the Coordinator of Information Systems; assist in project planning and implementation; manage service requests and equipment acquisition/disposal; provide advanced technical support to include installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and maintaining workstations for faculty/staff, classrooms and computer labs to include software and hardware issues; perform network maintenance and administration to include server installations and maintenance, performance optimization of network equipment, installation and maintenance of server-based applications and manage software imaging procedures. Monitor, diagnose and resolve security issues as related to servers, workstations and facilities in the College; manage wireless network in the College; monitor backup routines and disaster recovery procedures; provide formal and/or information training to faculty/staff and student employees. Write documentation for training and to document College procedures and configurations related to technology. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding installation of new software to include operating systems, user applications, patches and/or service packs and network/email monitoring tools. Assist with maintenance of College and/or faculty websites and perform related duties as required. |
