Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and a minimum of three years of professional experience required. 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Must be computer literate with skills in spreadsheet and word processing applications and familiar with automated financial administration systems (preference will be given to SCT Sungard Banner product experience). Must possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial analysis and management. Must possess ability to perform research and interpret accounting literature; establish work priorities and meet deadlines; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; and adapt to changing environments. CPA certification desired
Examples of Duties: Assist the Director of University Accounts Receivable in managing the financial aspects of Accounts Receivable; participation in university functions, including fee assessments, invoicing and collection of fees, interfaces with all affected university departments and systems and related financial and statistical reporting to internal and external parties; provide instructions/interpretations related to policies and procedures established by the Business Office or University Administration related to fiscal activities; review current accounting literature for regulations that affect college and University’s accounting reporting and compliance and assisting in implementation of applicable procedures to keep University in compliance with such; provide training on policies and procedures to staff and/or departmental personnel and performance of other duties as assigned.
