| Qualifications: | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, leadership, communications, recreation, child/youth development, volunteer development or closely related field with 1 year of related experience. - Knowledge and experience with National Guard and/or Army Reserve; 4-H youth development, particularly experience in working with teen audiences preferred. |
| Examples of Duties: | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and involve key individuals in forming OMK state team. - Coordination of OMK activities and events throughout the state. This will be accomplished by working closely with 4-H and National Guard personnel, as well as OMK Team Members. - Compile monthly and annual reports. This will involve collecting input from OMK team members in a timely fashion and compiling and submitting the data to reflect the state’s involvement. - Maintenance of OMK website information on both the federal and state sites. - Maintain regular contact with State 4-H Military Liaison and New Mexico National Guard Youth Programs Director and regional Army and Navy Reserve contacts to coordinate programming efforts and get latest deployment news and information. Meet with OMK Team members on at least a quarterly basis to keep team members up-to-date with project activities and requirements, and keep lines of communication open. - Maintain communication between team members, coordinate team meetings, make arrangements for training programs throughout the state, and develop written materials used for training and marketing Operation- Military Kids, complete monthly reports as required by USDA, annual reports, and appropriate communication pieces to media and team member agencies - Provide leadership to SOMK team to develop promotional and support items such as- youth driven Speakers’ Bureaus in which youth develop presentations on these issues and are available to speak to various organizations (e.g., Rotary Club events, School In-Services, local cable channels). Youth written newspaper articles based on their experiences and interviews. This could be conducted as part of an in-school or after-school program. Public Service Announcements developed by SOMK participants. - Perform related duties as required |
