| Qualifications: | Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at least (3) years of professional accounting and/or audit experience required. Prefer accounting/auditing for colleges and university and/or general auditing experience in government entities, financial statement preparation, automated financial accounting systems with report writing capabilities, personal computers, electronic spreadsheets and word processing software.
Knowledge of- Generally accepted accounting principles; University and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; accounting concepts and techniques; internal control procedures; federal and state laws, regulations, and requirement regarding contracts; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation. |
| Examples of Duties: | Reviews and approves financial transactions in accordance with approved guidelines; Prepares special reports for management review; Preparation of financial and budget reports and annual reports for University and associated entities; Responds to audit requests; Monitors assigned accounts; Provides instructions related to policies and procedures established by the Business Office or University Administration related to fiscal activities; Reviews current accounting literature for regulations that affect college and universities accounting and reporting and assists in implementation of applicable procedures to keep University in compliance with such; Participates in accounting research training projects; Recommends computer programming needs and improved systems changes for implementing and monitoring improved computerized reports; Provides direct support to departmental management as necessary; Supervises, directs, delegates, and evaluates work of assigned staff; Other duties as assigned. |
