| Qualifications: | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in a related field Four (4) years of related experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Knowledge of- University and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation; university environment; Microsoft Office applications with demonstrated experience in Excel, Word and Publisher Ability to- Direct, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and evaluate information Skill in- Short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public contact and relations; event planning, project and database management |
| Examples of Duties: | RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize/Plan development events and activities such as the Amado Peρa event, the Celebrity Golf Tournament, the Celebrity Dance, the Distinguished Alumni Dinner, Ribbon cutting events, and other special events and meetings Write Letters of invite to dignitaries informing them of upcoming events Work with print, radio and TV media to publicize events Develop and coordinate internal committees to assist with development events and activities; conduct event planning meetings Oversee onsite operations of events and activities such as securing venue, coordinating with facilities, audio visual and catering to ensure all arrangements are scheduled; venue set up and breakdown Assist with development planning and donor solicitation by performing accurate and timely donor stewardship functions including donation receipts, acknowledgements from all campaigns, appeals and any other gifts Maintain positive relationships with existing donors while upgrading giving levels Assist in cultivating and solicitation of gifts from prospective donors Maintain donor database by keeping files current on all donors and donations, ensure complete accuracy and records integrity and handling correspondence/ memos as directed Development of all promotional material for events to include invitations, programs, agendas, etc. Assist with management of event contracts; develop requisitions; disperse invoices and follow-up on payments Oversee and supervise work of assigned personnel Assist with contract negotiations to negotiate prices with outside vendors for event resources Perform other related duties as assigned |
