Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Business Computer Systems, Computer Science or related field. Five (5) years of experience.

Knowledge of University and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; network operating systems and server administration; PC system hardware, software and network protocols.

Skilled in short- and long-term range planning; problem analysis and resolution; public contact; communication.

Ability to direct, evaluate, train and supervise the work of assigned personnel; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and evaluate information; work independently; adjust to ever-changing technologies with creativity in management of resources.
Examples of Duties: • Troubleshoots and resolves PC systems software and hardware problems for clients.
• Installs and configures new hardware and software.
• Installs, configures, and maintains network hardware and software.
• Administers and supports various Microsoft and Macintosh operating systems on network workstations.
• Provides technical assistance for hardware and software usage.
• Administers and maintains software, upgrades, user accounts, etc. in servers environment.
• Provides system maintenance for backup and recovery of data on servers.
• Assists in recommendations and purchases of new personal computers, servers, printers and other peripherals.
• Supports and instructs lower level personnel.
• Performs duties of Desktop Support Manager when absent.
• Attends departmental staff meetings.
• Attends seminars and training activities.
• Performs related duties as required.
