General Information:
New Mexico State University (NMSU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean and Director of Academic Programs of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. The Associate Dean and Director will administer the academic programs of the College. Major responsibilities include the planning, coordination, budgeting, and monitoring of college teaching resources. The successful candidate is expected to be an advocate for the college, its students, faculty and staff at the university, state, and national levels. The Associate Dean and Director is administratively responsible to the Dean of the College and serves on the College Cabinet, Department Heads Council, the University Dean’s Advisory Council, and other committees as necessary.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Tenured Full Professor in the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences at New Mexico State University.
• Experience working with students in the areas of advising, retention, and recruitment.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, research, and service.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in communication, specifically interpersonal and public relations skills with students, faculty, staff,
administration, and the public.
• Understands the importance and limitations of computer technologies in the classroom.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NMSU policies and procedures.
• Experience interacting with internal and external groups.
• Experience in budget preparation and management.

• Demonstrated ability to work with student and faculty groups in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to write and manage grants.
• Experience with graduate education.
• Experience with curriculum development and academic program reviews.
• Demonstrated knowledge of distance education.
• Experience with international programs, study abroad, or other international opportunities for students.
