| Qualifications: | Required- MA in Art History or MFA in Art, or equivalent experience. Five years gallery and development experience preferred, as well as excellent personnel and team building skills.

| Examples of Duties: | Responsible for administering all aspects of the NMSU Art Gallery programs, personnel and budget; Oversee, curate and manage a multi-million dollar modern art collection (3000 objects), a nationally recognized retablo collection (2000 objects), and a collections budget. Maintain an annual calendar of exhibitions; Develop historical and contemporary exhibition concepts; Supervises, directs, and delegates work of assigned staff; Negotiate loans of artwork, arrange loan contracts, insurance coverage, condition reports and documentation; Arrange for packing, handling and transportation of exhibits; Train students and supervise their work in installation, art handling and preparatory work, collections data management. Opportunity to move a credible program to the next level; plans for new gallery currently in development stages.
