NMSU Student Wellness Center
Personal Training Rules
Cancellation/Tardiness
Personal Training sessions will be conducted on a 60-90 minute time frame, depending on the type of package purchased (individual or "buddy" package). If you are late for a session, it will end at the scheduled time. If you must cancel an appointment, you are required to give a 24-hour notice. If you are more than 15 minutes late for a session, it will be considered a no-show and you will be charged for that session. This 24-hour notice policy may be waved only if the client experiences extreme circumstances that may include, but are not limited to, death or illness. The assigned personal trainer has the right to ask the client for proof of any such incident. If there should be a discrepancy, the final decision will be left to the Assistant Director of Fitness/Wellness.
Medical Clearance
Those purchasing ANY personal training package must complete a full fitness assessment before conducting their first training session. This service is included with every personal training package and is a requirement. All clients must also submit proper medical clearance forms provided by the NMSU Student Wellness Center prior to initiating the first personal training appointment. For your safety and the sake of the NMSU Student Wellness Center, you may be asked to submit a doctor's recommendation/permission before initiating your first training session. Although this requirement is rare, if you display mutiple health-risk characteristics that may be aggravated by even the lightest exercise, the submission of this documentaion will be asked of you.
Payment/Refund
In most cases, personal training packages are prepaid and payment must be submitted upon the full fitness assessment appointment. In cases where large training packages are purchased, a payment plan may be arranged, at the discretion of the Assistant Director of Fitness/Wellness. Paying a personal trainer directly is strictly prohibited.
All sales are final and non-refundable. One-session, three-session, and five-session packages will expire 90 days from the ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE. Ten-session packages expire 180 days from the ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE.
Appointment Location
The NMSU Activity Center will be the sole training facility for each personal training appointment. This can include, but is not limited to, the use of the NMSU Student Wellness Center itself, as it is located within the Activity Center premises. Personal trainers are not permitted to train clients under any other conditions or circumstances.
Attire
Your comfort is a priority to us. Please come to each personal training session dressed in proper exercise clothing for comfort and courtesy. Please do not wear street attire. If a client chooses to arrive to any personal traininig session wearing street or inappropriate attire, the personal trainer can reserve the right to cancel that particular training session and the client will be charged as normal.
