For the convenience of faculty, students, and staff the Safety Office is rescheduling the Defensive Driving Courses during regular work hours. The new dates, time and place for the Defensive Driving Courses (DDC) are scheduled as listed below.

Defensive Driving Course (DDC) registrants must attend the entire session in order to receive A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION AND/OR PERMANENT DRIVING PERMIT! A $20.00 class enrollment fee for individuals affiliated with NMSU and a $25.00 fee for individuals attending the class for personal reasons will be assessed. Employees requesting a temporary permit must register fora class at that time and must attend before the temporary permit expires. Departments will be billed for those registered individualswho fail to attend and neglect to cancel and reschedule with the SafetyOffice prior to the course. 

Please call at least two weeks in advance to ensure a reservation. Beprepared to give your full name, address, social security number, dateof birth, a current/valid driver's license number, and a departmentaccount number. Prospective drivers of University vehicles will undergoa motor vehicle records check. Three moving violations or a DUI/DWIconviction within the past three years will require special NMSU review and may deny an individual a driving permit. No individual will be admitted fifteen minutes after class is in session! Individuals must bring a current driver's license and a pencil to class.
