BBHT: "How Many Calories" - Thursday, November 30, 12-12:50 pm
Announcement: Brown Bag Health
Topic "Healthy Heart Wednesday", Feb.
21, 2:00-6:00 pm
It is Valentine's Day and it started out a little cloudy, damp and
chilly with
occasional sleet and rain. The nice thing here, is that we don't have
to dig out of the freezing snow like some parts of the US. February
is
American
Heart Month and the monthly BBHT event is promote and attend
"Healthy Heart Wednesday" at the Student Wellness Center in the James
Delamater Activity Center.
On Wednesday, February
21st the Student Wellness Center, Student Health Center, and
WAVE program will provide the 2nd annual “Healthy Heart
Wednesday” at the SWC in the Activity Center ("the
AC"). Participants will have the opportunity to receive free
health screenings regarding body fat percentage, cholesterol, blood
pressure, blood glucose,
nutritional aspects, and eating disorders. Information will also be
available on NMSU programs and opportunities
for
improving your fitness and personal wellness. Mr.
Shon Myer, Assistant Director Fitness/Wellness, Physical
Ed Recreation and Dance, has provided the event description on the
attached
flyer. Those interested should note the
time (2:00 - 6:00 pm), location, and the requirements for
certain services.
The NMSU Community (employees, students, associates, your whole office
or department) are welcome to
participate and take part in activities that will
help ‘YOU’ improve your health. Medicines and medical technology can
save and prolong life, but you hold the key to maintaining your
health. These
Brown Bag Health Talks are an
informal and interactive way
to provide practical information on health issues that may affect you
or your family.
