According to a Las Cruces Sun-News article, concerns about the potential of coliform bacteria in the water system on the New Mexico State University main campus (as per June NMSU release) turned out to be unfounded.
A July 27, 2007 news article by Steve Ramirez, Las Cruces Sun-News, indicated that Ricardo Jacquez, New Mexico Environment Department, said eight sample tests showed no coliform in NMSU’s drinking water. These samples were taken immediately after two of 25 water samples tested positive for coliform bacteria. Jacquez said. “All of them (the followup samples) showed the water is safe to drink.”
