Environmental Health and Safety develops and executes a comprehensive health and safety program for the University. It's mandate encompasses all areas of activity and includes: consultation and technical assistance; information and education; inspection, evaluation and control; as well as the development of policies and procedures.

The program complies with all federal, state and municipal laws, codes, acts, regulation norms and standards relating to health, safety and the environment. New Mexico State University makes every effort to provide safe working and studying conditions for its employees and students. The Office functions as a support service to individuals and departments in carrying out the responsibilities assigned to them through legislation and University policy.
