12) How does the campus manage e-mail spam?

NMSU provides SPAM filtering of incoming email. This program assigns "points" to mail messages which set a threshold to identify SPAM messages. A message will earn points if it contains elements which appear similar to elements in a s message. By default if a message earns more than 5 points, it will be considered SPAM. If you believe that too many "real" messages are being marked as SPAM, you can increase the number of points required for a message to be considered SPAM. The spam maintenance site is available as http://aams.nmsu.edu/account/index.html after a student is admitted to the university.
