Clearly, a career in health care offers job stability, above average
financial reward, and the opportunity to join one of the most exciting
and fastest growing fields in the United States. Many health care workers earn more money and have better benefits
than equally-trained people working in other fields. Often people choose
health-related fields simply because they like to help others. Like many
states, New Mexico has a shortage of trained health care workers, which
means that there are more jobs than there are health professionals to
fill them. With information on more than 80 health-related careers, A Lifetime of Opportunity: Careers in Health is a good place to begin the search for a health career. In addition, there are a variety of other resources available in New Mexico for students and other individuals seeking information about health careers. Following is a list of organizations that provide information on health careers.
