Alternate Text Formats

Alternate Text Format

  1. Make sure you read, sign, and understand the section on NMSU Copyright Acknowlegement on the Student Agreement form.
  2. Fill out the SSD Alternate Request Form. SSD must receive the course textbooks and other reading materials at least 4 weeks before they are due in order to ensure ample time for preparation and timely return of the materials to the student.
  3. Inform the Assistive Technology Specialist which alternate format you want.
  4. The textbooks or other bound reading materials may have to have the spine cut off so that they can be scanned; and once the spine is removed, the textbook cannot be sold back to the NMSU bookstore or other textbook vendor. SSD will rebind your book with a spiral binding.
