Effective October 9, 2007, the cost will be $50 for the battery. The record initiation consists of filling out your eligibility and demographic forms. Test fees are paid at the time of registration. All payments for any services must be by cash, stipend, voucher, or money order, payable to New Mexico State University.
REFUND POLICY - Any refund requires your original receipt and your test ticket. A refund will be issued only if you return to our office a written request at least 14 days before a scheduled test. Rescheduled tests do not qualify for a refund nor will we reschedule a test after a refund has been issued. The business office will mail your refund check in approximately 3 weeks. There are no exceptions to this policy.
NEW MEXICO THREE (3) YEAR RULE - If your 1st test date is in 2006-2008, the 3 year rule applies. If you have not completed your GED ALL of your test scores expire and are purged three years from the date of your official GED test. If your 1st test is in 2009-2011, all test scores will expire December 31, 2011. Scores on the 2012 GED Tests may not be combined with partial scores earned on previous series of the GED tests. You are responsible for knowing when your test scores expire.
RETESTING - If you have a score of at least 410 on at least 4 tests there is a minimum 30 day waiting period to retest, otherwise there is a minimum 60 day waiting period to re-test. As long as you have not passed the GED battery, you may take any or all subjects up to 3 times in the current calendar year (January through December). Unfinished tests count the same as finished tests for this restriction. All of your test scores expire and will be purged from all records three (3) years from the date of your first official GED test. Retakes have the same cost as the original test.
CANCELLATION POLICY - If you call our office and cancel your tests by the cancellation date & time listed on your registration form, you may reregister once at a later time without penalty.
SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS - Accommodations (for example, extra time and/or private test room) or available for persons with documented disabilities. PLEASE ASK FOR INFORMATION. Note: (if you were in Special Education in High School, there is a good chance you have a documented disability.)
ABSENCE POLICY- This policy applies:
- if you are not present on time for a scheduled test.
- if you are not admitted to a scheduled test due to your being late or not having both of your approved ID’s.
- if you are absent for the entire battery your must wait three (3) months before being allowed to register again.
If you are absent from any test, you will need to register again. The test fee will be $10 per test.
