Information for Test Day

When to Come

Be generous in allowing adequate travel and parking time. Be aware parking can be extremely time consuming. Report 15 minutes before you test. Late candidates are not admitted.

What to Bring; What is Provided

Every time you take a test you must bring the same two forms of ID you used to establish your eligibility to test. Copies of your ID’s are not acceptable. There are no exceptions. Also bring your copy of your signed GED registration form. You will be provided with pencils, pens, scratch paper, and a calculator.

What is Restricted

Items not allowed in the test room

  • CELL PHONES, cameras, or electronic devices of any kiknd
  • food, gum, or beverages

If you are caught with your cell phone, your answer sheet will be voided, and you will be asked to leave. You may not test for six (6) months.

Items not allowed in your seat:

  • purses, backpacks, tote bags
  • cameras, cell phones or other electronic devices
  • food, gum, or beverages
  • books, paper in any form, your personal pencils, pens, erasers
  • jackets, coats, hats
  • any other item that will not fit in your pocket

If you bring any of these items to the test, you will be required to place it at the side of the room. We cannot be responsible for these items, therefore, our recommendation is that, whenever possible, you do not bring the above items to the test.

Leaving the Test Room

If you leave the test room for any reason before the end of the test time, you may not return to complete the test. You will lose one of your 3 chances to test during the calendar year. You will need to register again, and pay the $10 test fee. The only exception is when you have an official GEDTS-approved disability accommodation which allows breaks.
