Do I have to buy Hospitalization Insurance?

No, the hospital insurance NMSU offers is an optional fee, unless you are a foreign student. Information about supplemental hospital insurance can be found at http://www.nmsu.edu/~shc/INSURANCE.htm. Foreign students must purchase the hospital insurance or show proof of other hospitalization coverage to the Center for International Programs. Center for International Programs will issue a waiver form, which must be turned into University Accounts Receivable. The deadline to waive, add or drop insurance is the last day to drop a course from your academic record during a session. See specific semester schedule of classes for this date.

How do I withdraw from my classes?

Contact the Registrar's office at (575) 646-3411. Not attending classes does NOT cancel your registration. The date you officially cancel determines how much, if any, you must pay. See specific semester schedule of classes for dates and refund percentages.

Will my grades be blocked if I still owe money?

No, grades are posted to an academic record regardless of the money due on an account. If a balance is due, official transcripts will be blocked, but unofficial transcripts can be ordered through the Registrar's Office. Grades can be viewed on the Web at http://www.nmsu.edu/online/.
