
NMSU alumni gathered to enjoy an evening at the Plaza Theater in El Paso to see the Mel Brooks musical The Producers in May. The evening began with a limo ride from the Alumni Center to the Plaza where the group enjoyed hors doeuvres before the performance and delicious desserts and coffee during intermission.
NMSU Athletics hosted an Aggie Caravan in May to spread goodwill. The Caravan toured the state to promote Aggie Athletics and share their vision for the future. Participating in the tour were Athletics Director McKinley Boston, former mens basketball coach Reggie Theus, football coach Hal Mumme, womens basketball coach Darin Spence and volleyball coach Michael Jordan. Stops along the route included Carlsbad, Hobbs, Los Alamos, Santa Fe and Farmington, where NMSU Aggie pep rallies, luncheons and dinners were held.
NMSU Alumni gathered in June at the Albuquerque Isotopes Baseball Club to watch the team take on the Oklahoma Red Hawks. See page 27 for a photo of the event.
Southern New Mexico and West Texas Aggie alumni gathered in June at the Hard Ball Cafe and Terrace in Cohen Stadium in El Paso, Texas. Several alumni came out to watch the El Paso Diablos play the Sioux City Explorers.
Alumni from the Phoenix area along with some Las Cruces alumni gathered in June for a pre-game party at Coach and Willies followed by an evening at Chase Field, where they watched the Arizona Diamondbacks play the Baltimore Orioles.
Aggie alumni gathered at the Santa Fe Opera House in July to enjoy Daphne, a mythical tale of a shepherd girl who escapes Apollos clutches.
