| Planned Giving Society Gets a New Name |
|
During NMSU’s Centennial Celebration in 1988-1989, friends who made planned gifts to the university were recognized as members of the Hiram Hadley Society. These donors received plaques and other recognition from the university foundation.
In the intervening years, this organization was not active and records became incomplete. When Rebecca Dukes became vice president for university advancement in 2001, she wanted to rejuvenate activities for this very important segment of NMSU’s donor family and decided a new name was in order.
The 1888 Society recognizes anyone who has made a planned gift such as a life income gift or retained life estate, or named the university as a beneficiary through a will, charitable trust or insurance policy. Anyone who was originally recognized by the Hiram Hadley Society qualifies and the university is trying to compile an accurate list of this group.
A second holiday tea for 1888 Society members is being planned for Dec. 7, 2004. If you believe you should be a member of this group, please contact Ann Palormo at 505-646-5731 or apalormo@nmsu.edu to update your records and make sure you receive an invitation to the event.
