Of course! That's Casey Burns
| Casey Burns, ex-'61 (on the right), is confirmed as one
of two mystery
beauties photographed on the football field in 1958. Lee Bowen, '61, a
former Aggie basketball player, reported that Burns, originally from Nara
Visa, N.M., now lives
in Kenya, where she operates her own business. Joyce Evans Hodgin, '60, of Willard, N.M., Jim Sachse, '61, of Las Cruces, Nancie Hart Mahoney, '64, of Dexter, N.M., and Betty Jean Gonzales Forgnone, '61, of Whittier, Calif., also contacted Panorama to identify Burns. |

A popular place for summer weddings and gatherings is NMSU's Landscape and Horticulture Garden at the Fabian Garcia Science Center on University Avenue west of Main Street.
Horticulture alumni are seeking funds to support and maintain the garden. A minimum of $10,000 is required to establish an endowed fund with the University Foundation. Donors contributing $500 or more will be recognized by having their names placed on a plaque at the garden entrance.
The garden contains more than 100 species of trees, shrubs and woody plants, 80 annuals and perennials and 22 turf plots. A gazebo, which was donated by the Las Cruces Home Builders Association, is open to the public and can be rented for special occasions.
The NMSU agronomy and horticulture department and its alumni invite you to become a friend of the garden through a gift to the Garden Endowment. For more information, write to Rebecca Sellars, Office of University Development, NMSU Box 3590, Las Cruces, NM 88003, or call (505) 646-6128.
Until next year, Aggie readers
I became editor of Aggie Panorama nearly two years ago, and it's time to say "So long" but not "Goodbye." I'm taking a year's leave of absence and hope to return as a writer. This August, I'm happily about to become mother to twins, in addition to my two other children - all boys. The publication has been an enriching part of my job at University Communications, and I'll truly miss the pages and the people.
As readers, you'll be left in the very capable hands of Rita Popp, '93, who earned a master's in English from NMSU and a master's in journalism from Northern Illinois University. She edited Page One, NMSU's faculty-staff newsletter, for the past two years, has worked as a media specialist at NMSU's Agricultural Communications and has been a contributing writer to Panorama for many more years. Please welcome her aboard by writing lots of "letters to the editor" because she wants more reader feedback!

Remeber when ... Share the Memories
The Alumni Association will celebrate its centennial on May 24, 1998. As part of the birthday planning, Aggie Panorama is collecting stories from alumni. Who was your favorite professor? What are some of your fondest memories? What did you do for fun? Do you remember the origins of any Aggie traditions? Drop us a few lines and share the memories.
