In December 2005 Farm Credit of New Mexico presented New Mexico State University with $250,000 to endow a scholarship for members’ children and grandchildren who attend NMSU. Pictured, left to right, at the check presentation are Bruce McAbee, Farm Credit of New Mexico president and CEO; Joe Clavel, chairman of Farm Credit’s board of directors; NMSU President Michael Martin; and Lowell Catlett, dean of NMSU’s College of Agriculture and Home Economics. The first award will be given for fall 2006. Farm Credit of New Mexico makes loans to farmers, ranchers, rural homeowners, cooperatives and agribusinesses. It has offices in Albuquerque, Clovis, N.M., Las Cruces, Roswell, N.M., and Tucumcari, N.M.
