Readers Respond to the New Panorama

“I am writing to tell you how terrific I think the fall edition of Aggie Panorama is. Congratulations, the new format is the best yet!

Your article on Charley Johnson ’61 was outstanding. I have long been an admirer of Charley Johnson, who demonstrated not only athletic prowess but academic prowess as well.

Please keep up the excellent work on Aggie Panorama.”

— James D. Rose ’65 ’80

“The new Panorama in a word ... WOW!

The graphics and layout are so very inviting. I’m glad you opted for color. It makes for bright and interesting pages. That can be said about a lot of alumni magazines, I expect. But let me add you’ve done an exceptional job on content. I have found articles informative and interesting. A few even evoked memories of my years at NMSU (1961-1966). For example, when I read how Luther Foster would go swimming in the pool east of Foster Hall, I recalled that was the pool I swam in in 1961 – before the ‘new’ natatorium was built.”

— August B. Russo ’66 of Whitefish Bay, WI

“I recently received my Aggie Panorama in the mail. This issue was nicely done!  I love the format and I very much enjoyed reading about the new NMSU President, Mike Martin. Although it’s been a long time since I attended NMSU, I have fond memories – it’s where I met my husband! My sister, brother, and sister-in-law all attended NMSU, and now my nephew is as well.

I also found two articles, ‘Seasons of Life and Land’ and ‘Sweet Success,’ to be particularly interesting. It’s always uplifting to see where NMSU grads are now and to glory in their accomplishments. I just really liked the focus.

Thanks for keeping us updated on what’s going on at State.”

— Kelley Gillis Baer ’83

“Congratulations! The new look looks very good, and the contents match the look. Bravo!”

— Abe M. Pena ’49

“Panorama magazine is great, and as an NMSU alum from the Journalism Department, I think it’s very well laid out and well written. Good job. Switching to magazine format gives justice to the great news you guys give.”

— Larae Malooly ’00

“I just received the Panorama magazine in the mail and wanted you to know it looks wonderful! I can’t wait to sit down and read it.

Congratulations on the new format that lures my eye and makes me want to linger over each page.”

— Lana Cunningham Cooper ’74

“Congratulations to all who had a part in accomplishing the new format for Panorama. It is an outstanding improvement, and will surely continue to reflect the increasing quality of information from ‘you’ to ‘us’.”

— Bill Bonner ’52

“The Fall 2004 issue of the Panorama is the BEST EVER! We read the entire magazine from cover to cover and loved it all. It’s hard to say just which article we enjoyed the most because they were all so good. We didn’t know about many of the exciting new projects for NMSU. We must make time for a visit in the near future. We now are anxiously awaiting the next issue.”

— Chuck ’70 and Jackie ’69 Winberg

“I want to compliment you on the new format and content of Panorama. The magazine format is stylish and polished and looks great! Keep up the good work!”

— Lee Ellen Banks ’88

“I just finished reading the latest issue of Panorama and I wanted to commend the editorial staff – it’s a great issue. I haven’t received one in a while, so I was thrilled to get it in the mail recently. While I was saddened to read of Dr. Pasternack’s passing, I enjoyed reading every bit of the publication.  Please keep up the good work.”

— Charlene (Long) Wheeless ’87
