New Mexico State University has been selected to host the 2007 and 2008 Western Athletic Conference basketball tournaments. This will be the first time NMSU will host an entire conference tournament.

Both the men's and women's tournaments will be held in the Pan American Center, which is currently undergoing a substantial renovation.

"This is a great opportunity for the athletics department to help provide a positive economic impact for the city of Las Cruces," says McKinley Boston, NMSU's athletic director.

NMSU was selected for the two-year contract over the University of Nevada and Boise State University.
