The New Mexico State University Alumni Association is moving forward with several new initiatives to engage Aggie Alumni with their alma mater.
The Alumni Association has declared "Crimson and White" Fridays for Aggie Alumni across the country, encouraging alumni everywhere to don their Aggie apparel to show school spirit and unity.
"Crimson and White Fridays are an attempt to build a sense of community," said McKinley Boston, athletic director for NMSU. "There is a common understanding about tradition and wearing the school colors helps to enhance that tradition."
The initiative is also supported by President Michael Martin, who has declared Crimson and White Fridays campuswide. NMSU also encourages alumni to display the Aggie colors in their business.
This is a collaborative effort between Aggie Athletics and the Alumni Association to enhance school spirit and recognition.
Another collaboration between the Alumni Association and Aggie Athletics includes a dual membership option for alumni. Details on this new package are forthcoming.
The Alumni Association underwent changes to its Web site in September, changing the design to further NMSU's new branding initiative. Visit the new site at http://alum.nmsu.edu/.
"The Web site is now more aesthetically pleasing, easy to navigate and helps alumni keep up-to-date." says Georgina Panahi, director of the Alumni Association.
