Phoenix alumni host family picnic

In May 2006 NMSU alumni gathered with their families at the Enchanted Island Amusement Park in Phoenix, Ariz. The festivities included a picnic, games and youth rides at the park. About 30 people attended the event with their families.

Alumni celebrate Memorial Day with fishing

Several NMSU alumni gathered for the 50th year to celebrate Memorial Day with a fishing trip to the Lazy Moon Ranch on the Los Pinos River in northern New Mexico. The tradition of the annual trip started in 1956. Those in attendance in 2006 were Bob Riley ’61, Pete Emens ’51, Bob Calloway ’55, Jim Loomis ’57, Jim Blevins ’53, John Aderhold ’56, Bill Price ’50, Bill Beckner, Charles Murphy ’55, Ben Boykin ’53, Dave Holt ’61 and Dick Mullins ’56.

Houston alumni meet Coach Mumme

Coach Hal Mumme and the football staff joined Houston alumni for dinner in June 2006 at Grisby Grill in Houston. About 20 alumni attended to listen to Mumme and his staff talk about the 2006 football season.

Alumni enjoy the opera

In July 2006 more than 65 alumni jumped at the opportunity to enjoy dinner and the opera at the Santa Fe Opera House. They were treated to Massenet’s Cinderella.

Aggies enjoy Isotopes game

More than 140 alumni and their families gathered in August 2006 for the second annual Aggies at Isotope Park event. Everyone enjoyed the great weather and catching up with friends at the Blake’s Lotaburger Pavilion for a picnic during the game.

Aggies on the Hill host third Family Fest

Aggies on the Hill hosted their third annual Family Fest at NMSU’s Sustainable Science Center in Alcalde, N.M. in September 2006. The event included music, hayrides, food and games. Pete even stopped by for the hayride. Also in September, Aggies on the Hill sold corn and ice cream at the Fall Fest in Los Alamos to raise money for the United Way.

Game day parties

The Crimson Central Alumni Chapter in Albuquerque and the Santa Fe Alumni Chapter hosted game day parties in September 2006 during the Aggies vs. Lobos rivalry game.
