New Mexico State University's Center for Learning Assistance will hold its Non-Traditional Student Symposium from 8:30 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Feb. 3, in the New Mexico Room of Corbett Center. Topics to be discussed will include campus resources, how to build a support network and learning styles.

"This workshop has helped non-traditional students form a support group and provides strategies to deal with the normal anxiety of entering college and competing in the classroom with traditional-aged students," said Terry Cook, associate director of the learning center. Approximately 20 to 25 percent of NMSU undergraduates are non-traditional students, Cook said.

There will also be a discussion panel titled "I wish I knew then..." with panelists who are non-traditional students on hand to answer questions.
