The reading will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Hardman Hall Room 106.
Williford teaches in the bilingual writing program at the University of Texas at El Paso and his book, “Macauley’s Thumb,” was the co-winner of the 1993 Iowa School of Letters Award for Short Fiction. He has received fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts, Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and others. He is also the co-editor of the new “Scribner Anthology of Contemporary Short Fiction.”
Fiction graduate student Evan Lavender-Smith will also be reading from his thesis.
The reading is free and open to the public. Non-perishable food donations for Casa de Peregrinos will be accepted at the door.
