Willson & McKee are from Polson, Mont., and have been touring Western states since 1990. Their performances have included schools, residencies, adult workshops, community concerts, coffee houses, house concerts and festivals. This will be their third performance at New Mexico State.
Kim McKee received more than 15 years of classical training before returning to traditional music and has been playing the music of her Irish and Scottish ancestors for 25 years. She will bring her unique influence on hammer and mountain dulcimers, folk harp, bodhran, bones, psaltery and dance to the performance.
Ken Willson has decades of performance experience including bluegrass, blues, rock, country and acoustic folk. He will add folk flavor with his guitars, Irish Bouzouki, banjo and storytelling. Willson is an Irish storyteller and can dance Ceili swings.
Willson & McKee will perform material from their 2001 release, “Passed By Here,” as well as selections from their three previous CDs. Admission is free. For more information call the Union Program Council at (505) 646-3235.
