The enrollment management position is responsible for developing and implementing a campuswide, team-based approach to student recruitment and retention.
As dean of enrollment management at Tarleton State since September 1999, Bankhead has chaired the university’s Strategic Enrollment Management Committee with responsibilities in five key areas: recruitment, retention, marketing and public relations, planning and assessment, and data management. New freshman enrollment has grown 25 percent and overall enrollment has grown 12 percent over the past three years.
He previously served as registrar at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas, and as director of admissions at Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas.
He has a master’s degree in educational guidance and counseling from Wayne State University in Detroit.
“We are delighted that Brad Bankhead will be joining New Mexico State University in this important position,” said Gladys De Necochea, vice president for student services and dean of students. “He brings considerable enrollment management experience and his expertise will be valuable to us as we continue to develop our strengths in the areas of recruitment and retention.”
