Myles is from New York and often teaches fiction at the University of California-San Diego. Her recent books include “Skies” and “On My Way,” which are both poetry, and the novel “Cool for You.”
In a recent profile by the New York Times, Myles was described as “a cult figure to a generation of post-punk females forming their own literary avant garde.”
Myles was the artistic director of St. Mark’s poetry project in the 1980s and has since read and performed her work in the United States, Russia, Iceland and Germany. Her articles and reviews appear regularly in The Nation, Book Forum, Index, Art in America, The Village Voice, Nest and The Stranger. Her work is often taught in gay and lesbian literature classes and her poetry has been published by the independent press, Black Sparrow.
The gallery is located at the corner of Jordan and University. The reading is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Connie Voisine at (505) 646-2027.
