The league is meant to encourage families to participate in a physical activity together and welcomes anyone. The league is open to those with or without disabilities and includes all levels of experience.
Adapted physical education, or APE, is physical education that is as appropriate for a person with a disability as it is for a person without a disability.
The NMSUAPE program was created in 2003 as a part of the Physical Education, Recreation and Dance department in the College of Education and allows graduate students to earn a master’s in education with an emphasis in APE.
The league will continue every Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. until May 7. For more information, contact Scott Pedersen at (505) 646-2071 or pedersen@nmsu.edu.
