This year’s theme is “Women in War and Peace,” honoring women who battle on many fronts to obtain peace for themselves and their community.
Continuing events include the panel discussion “Women During the Wars: Workers, Warriors and Wives” held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at University Terrace Good Samaritan Village, 3025 Terrace Drive. Women veterans and active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces will speak about their contributions to the military during war.
National Women’s History Month has been celebrated every March since 1987. The knowledge of women’s history raises awareness of women’s achievements throughout history and a more expansive vision of what women can do.
