“We traditionally have an informal welcoming for our faculty and staff at the beginning of each semester; however, this gathering will be special. Over the summer, we vacated our main building and most of us have been located throughout the campus in ‘temporary’ offices where we will remain for the next two years. I’m pleased and proud of the way our people responded,” Moulton said. “There have been and will continue to be challenges in all facets of the renovation project, but everyone in the college seems happy with their new locations and they’re making it work.”
Faculty in the departments of Educational Management and Development, Counseling and Educational Psychology and Curriculum and Instruction have moved to Regents Row, a former student housing complex behind Frenger Food Court. The college’s grant-funded projects or labs in the areas of science and math have relocated to a variety of buildings on the west end of campus, including Gerald Thomas Hall, Knox Hall and Skeen Hall.
The Learning Resource Center is now located in Branson Room 207 and the college’s advising center and distance education office are in Zuhl Library on the second floor. The College of Education Dean’s Office is located on the first floor of Branson Library.
Moulton said much of the success of the move out of O’Donnell Hall is due to the hard work and tenacity of Jennifer Villa, director of the college’s Learning Resource Center and the coordinator of the O’Donnell Hall relocation efforts.
“She did an extraordinary amount of work to ensure that each phase of the move went well and deserves to be recognized,” Moulton said.
