Newscaster Aragón and golfer Wimberly to be honored at commencementNew Mexico State University will honor former NMSU golf coach Herb Wimberly, as well as NMSU alumna and longtime TV newscaster Carla Aragón with honorary degrees during the spring 2009 commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Pan American Center. New regent Pino born in Las Cruces, an NMSU alumnusNew regent Isaac "Ike" Pino accepted the nomination to the New Mexico State University Board of Regents to "come back and get involved with the university that opened a lot of doors" for him. Pino graduated in 1974 from NMSU with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
