Bill Cosby part of NMSU's 2009 Homecoming celebration

New Mexico State University will have plenty of activities and events to celebrate Homecoming 2009, "Celebrating the Past, Unmasking the Future," including a remembrance for former engineering dean Daniel Jett and a comedy performance by Bill Cosby.

Homecoming will be celebrated Oct. 22-24 and includes reunions for the graduating classes of 1949, 1959 and 1969.

On Oct. 22, the Homecoming events will kick off with a tribute to Jett. The former engineering dean personally corresponded with NMSU students serving in the armed forces during WWII, and there will be readings from his correspondences, which were compiled into the 2008 book "The Whole Damned World: New Mexico Aggies at War, 1941-1945." The event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on the third floor of Zuhl Library. For ticket information contact Cathy Lindsay at (575) 646-2913.

Associated Students of NMSU will hold a pep rally and bonfire at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 in Dirt Lot 34, north of the soccer fields. Country singer Randy Houser will entertain the revelers. For more information call (575) 646-4415.
