Charge to the Committee


The President's Commission on the Status of Women shall advocate for a campus community that is inclusive, diverse, and equitable. The Commission will facilitate the exchange of knowledge about the status of women faculty and staff at NMSU; will provide a focus for action on women's issues; and will promote an equitable work and learning environment. The President's Commission on the Status of Women will:
 
  • Gather data on the status of women faculty and staff at NMSU.
  • Review institutional documents (e.g., NMSU Policy Manual) to determine the gendered impact of institutional policies and procedures.
  • Monitor data, policies and procedures, and campus issues at NMSU in light of local and national trends impacting the status of women at NMSU.
  • Recommend appropriate courses of action on policies and procedures to promote gender equity in the recruitment and retention of women faculty and staff at NMSU.
  • Report its findings to the NMSU Board of Regents every three years.
