With a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies, you’ll be prepared for a wide range of careers that bring history, art, science, and culture to life. Graduates pursue roles as museum curators, educators, collections managers, and exhibit developers — shaping the way the public experiences and understands cultural treasures. You might manage artifacts as a registrar, preserve them as a conservator, or share their stories as a public programs coordinator. Opportunities also extend into archives, digital collections, visitor engagement, and fundraising, making this credential a versatile gateway to leadership and innovation in museums and cultural institutions.

The Experience

Turn Passion for the Past into Professional Impact

The Certificate may be completed as a stand alone certification or in conjunction with the M.A. degree in Anthropology, History, Art, and related fields. The curriculum includes museology, methods, exhibit development, collections management, conservation, curation, and practice in Museum Studies. 

The Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies requires 18 credits of coursework.

  • ARTS 503 - Preventive Conservation/Collections Care
  • ANTH 540 - Cultural Resource Management
