Optimize Systems. Lead Innovation. Advance with Industrial Engineering at NMSU.

NMSU’s graduate programs in Industrial Engineering prepare students to design, analyze, and optimize complex systems that integrate people, technology, data, and organizations. Offering both a Master of Science (M.S.) and a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), the program provides flexible pathways for students seeking advanced technical expertise, leadership roles, or preparation for research and doctoral study.

The M.S. in Industrial Engineering emphasizes analytical rigor and research, allowing students to explore advanced topics through coursework and a thesis option — ideal for those interested in innovation, data-driven decision-making, or further graduate study. The M.Eng. in Industrial Engineering is a professionally focused, non-thesis degree designed for engineers and working professionals who want to apply advanced methods directly to industry, government, or organizational challenges. Together, these programs equip graduates with the skills to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and performance across a wide range of industries.
